About Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands is a bucket list scuba diving destination. They were the inspiration that led us to a completely new understanding of how species can radiate outwards and fill a wide variety of different niches. So, the name of the islands comes from the Spanish name for the endemic giant tortoises that inhabit the islands. The tortoises on each island have their own particular shell shape exclusively adapted for life on that particular island. Many of the creatures found here are found nowhere else in the world. The dive sites here is like no other place in the world. In addition, there are over 400 species of fish, 28 species of sharks, and 62 dive sites found here. Some species like the endemic cat shark may live over 1,200ft below the surface. This group of 18 main volcanic islands and hundreds of lesser islands and rocks are less than 4.2 million years old.
